Dropshipping Products on EBay

Dropshipping and eBay are often uttered in the same breath, and you might think that the two terms are inseparable, somehow inextricably bound together.  There is even some question as to whether or not eBay offically allows dropshipping.  I have looked through eBay policies and could not find a direct statement that disallowed dropshipping.  However, it seems that “everyone” does it, and eBay even owns doba.com, one of the better known mega dropshipping outlets.  Doba is very well reputed, but generally thought to be way too expensive to actually make any money.

If you here because you are trying or want to sell on eBay using dropshipping, the comments, here, may be of interest.  I will mention a number of dropshipping sources; however, keep in mind that dropshipping through many distributors is simply too expensive for eBay.  Remember, eBay charges listing fees, final value fees, and a number of other fees for extras to help your listing be noticed.  If you have an eBay shop, then there are the monthly fees for that, as well.  And then there are the expenses for the software to run a large eBay business.  It really takes some thought and planning to determine whether or not your eBay business has a shot at survival.

I’m not trying to dissuade you from selling on eBay, but eBay may not be the right selling environment for all items.  Generally speaking, popular, mass produced goods, such as consumer electronics, are very difficult to sell profitably because of the intense competition.  However, you might do very well by selling from your own website because the goods sold through some of the dropship sites do offer substantial price reduction.

Ok, I’m going to give you a list of some of the “usual suspects.”  You may already know of these sources, but I hope there is at least one in the group that may be new.  I am not recommending these companies.  I understand that they are generally well regarded, but they are distributors in business to capitalize on the demand for dropshipped products.
