Finding Wholesale Distributors–Two Mega Tips

If you plan to be an eBay seller, or for that matter any sort of physical products reseller, then you understand the importance of finding good product sources.  Very often this means having a sound command ofthe wholesale resources at hand.

So how do you find a good wholesale source,or manuafacturer and distributors who are willing to dropship?  Personally, I think the best way of doing this is to contact manufacturers directly for the product you want to sell.  Either they will be able to sell to you directly or will tell you who the authorized distributors are.  Right there you will have saved yourself a world of trouble and time. 

The other resource you should make use of are trade shows.  Trade shows are not generally open to the general public but only to other businesses.  A trade show will give you the opportunity to sample product quality, talk to the manufacturers and distributors, and develop you network of contacts.

One very important point to mention is that distributors generally adjust price per quantity purchased.  There may be some negotiation involved to the best price.  Understand that though wholesalers may very well be able to sell you single quantities, the price will always be higher than in bulk.

I have left online wholesale directories last because the first to tips are really the most important.  Online dropship and wholesale directories are great for research, and you might pick up some additional contacts, but some point, if you are serious about your business, you may need to meet the manufacturers, distributors in person.
